MawsonKerr have been working with Zac Monro to design and deliver two of the homes on Channel 4’s new prime time show Inside Out Homes. The houses, in Jesmond and Darras Hall, was aired on Thursday 28th July and 8pm Thursday 4th August. All will be revealed on the show! The Jesmond house pictures here
Planning Permission Granted Levens Hall Restaurant
Planning permission has been granted for the proposed restaurant at Grade I listed Levens Hall and Gardens.
We look forward to taking the vision forward onto site in the near future.
RIBA award nomination for Friar House
Following the RICS and Lord Mayors Awards we are delighted to have an RIBA award nomination for Friar House. Our work on the then dilapidated Georgian house transformed into Roomzzz Apartment Hotel has been shortlisted in the North East regional category.

Eco House Granted Planning in Open Countryside
Planning permission has been granted on what, in planning terms, is considered ‘open countryside’. Shawm House is located in North Northumberland on the border of the National Park. This rare achievement was due to the clients’ desire for an outstanding piece of architecture that would create an accessible, comfortable, highly energy efficient home, using local and traditional materials in a contemporary way.
Working closely with the client the project is an exemplar of contemporary sustainable design and aims to use Passivhaus principles and innovative construction techniques.
Friar House Highly Commended
We were delighted our work at Friar House has been recognized by the RICS in the Leisure and Tourism category at their 2013 Awards ceremony.
The working restoring and adapting the Grade II Listed Building for Roomzzz into Friar House Apartment Hotel was Highly Commended by the RICS.
Bespoke Jesmond Home Complete
